What is it really?


Our mental health directly influences how we think, feel and act. It also affects our physical health. Work, in fact, is actually one of the best things for protecting our mental health, but it can also adversely affect it.  Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

 Globally, it is estimated that 1 in 7 (14%) 10-19 year-olds experience mental health conditions, yet these remain largely unrecognized and untreated. Adolescents with mental health conditions are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion, discrimination, stigma, educational difficulties, risk-taking behaviors, physical ill-health and human rights violations.
